What export options are used if I am using the 3DVIA Composer plug-in for SolidWorks on a computer that does NOT have 3DVIA Composer installed? Is there anyway to change these export options?

For example, is "Merge file into one actor per part" selected? Is there a way to clear "Import free faces"?

    Thank you,
    Joe

  2. "I have learned that there is no programmatic way to change the export settings when a computer has SolidWorks + 3DVIA Composer Plug-in without 3DVIA Composer installed. You must change the settings in the registry however. Go to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Dassault Systemes\ 3DVIAComposer\ Preferences

Here is a list of some of the keys for options that are mentioned in the 3DVIA Composer Essentials training manual:

Merge file into one actor per part > IOMergeFileInOneActor (value 1 = selected)
Import as bodies > IOImportAsBodies (value 1 = selected)
Import free faces > IOImportFreeFaces (value 1 = selected)
Identifiers > IOIdentType (value 1 = Identifier based on names)
I hope this helps others who had the same question that I did.

    Regards,
    Joe"

I have a 64-bit computer with the following installed:
    SolidWorks 2012 64-bit
    3DVIA Composer Plug-in for SolidWorks 64-bit
    3DVIA Composer Player 64-bit

I do not have 3DVIA Composer installed.

I do not see the options I quoted back in 2008 in my registry. How do I control the output from SolidWorks? What options can I manipulate in the registry or elsewhere?

(I apologize if my earlier post was incorrect. I believe I tested it without installing 3DVIA Composer back when I wrote the original post. Maybe I made a mistake or maybe something changed in how the registry keys are written since 2008.)
